NPOWER CUTS GAS PRICES
Energy supplier Npower has announced it is cutting its standard gas tariff by an average 5.1% from 16 February It is the fourth energy company to lower gas prices since E.on slashed prices to customers by 3.5% last week. British Gas cut its standard gas tariff by 5% on Monday. Scottish Power cut gas prices by 4.8% earlier this week as well.
Scottish Power has become the third major gas supplier to announce a price cut, with the news it is to reduce prices by 4.8% from 20 February.
Customers on the standard tariff will make an average saving of £33 on their annual gas bills as a result.
Earlier this week, the UK's largest supplier, British Gas, announced it was to cut prices by 5% from 27 February.
German-owned supplier E.On was the first to reduce its tariffs, by 3.5% - a cut that has already taken effect.
British Gas - the UK's biggest residential energy supplier is cutting gas prices by 5% on the 27th February.
The supplier which is part of the Centrica group, said the discount would reduce the typical household's annual energy bill by £37.
They are the second of the "big six" suppliers to reduce prices after E.On reduced its standard gas prices by 3.5% last week.
